Lagom Progress Update 9

The lads have been working hard since the last update here at Lagom and this week we did a walk through and took some videos of our progress – be sure to check them out over on Instagram where we’ve shared a couple of Reels!

We’re putting together a bit of a mosaic in the entrance hall and starting to plan out the landscaping outside, which will be fun to tackle as the autumn/winter months roll in. Here’s hoping for some good weather!

Inside we continue to make steady progress and every week when we do a run through of the property you can see all the small tasks starting to come together towards our bigger vision for Lagom. After months and months of solid graft on this project, starting to see so many changes in so little time has made the long hours worth it.

Whilst the top floor still looks like there’s a long way to go from an outside perspective, progress will likely fly from here. With the floor now fully installed we expect that the kitchen cabinets will be completed in no time and our living space will become more ‘livable’ once the scaffolding is out of there.

As we walk through the house we can’t help but notice the ‘little bits’ that make this Ballycastle accommodation really come together; the ocean inspired door handles that reflect our Northern Irish coastal surroundings and other small, yet important touches like the golden globe finial on our stairway reiterates our love for keeping the adventure alive and exploring whenever and wherever we can.

Downstairs half a floor, those of you who follow us on social will see that we’ve painted the library room and as we head into the rooms on the ground floor, you’ll notice that these rooms are the one’s that are almost there and just about ready for furnishing.

The en-suite bathrooms are fully tiled, plumbed in, and are now just awaiting a lick of paint to finish them off and the wall sockets/charging points have been placed in. We’re looking forward to finishing these rooms off soon.

Down on the basement level, we’ve still got a bit of a way to go. Tiling has commenced in the accessible bathroom and we’re hoping the bathroom will be fully installed by the next update – or close enough.
