the Concept
“Not a typical retreat”
lagompresents is an annual series of carefully curated weekend retreats hosted by us at our estate in Ballycastle. Each bring together a small group of like minded guests with some of the most interesting makers, chefs, guides and creators from across the Irish North Coast and beyond. We take over the whole property and shape each weekend around the season, the space, and the kind of atmosphere we want to create. Each retreat has its own theme always unique – never repeated. If you miss it you miss it.
Food is shared. Time is flexible. Nothing feels over-structured.
Following the success of our first lagompresents gathering, we’re back for our next retreat: Höstmys.
Inspired by the Scandinavian idea of embracing the shift into autumn, Hostmys is about leaning into the season. Crisp days outside, warm spaces to come back to, fires lit, great food on the table and time spent with good people.
From 6th to 8th November, we’re opening the gates to the whole Lagom estate for a two night retreat centred around slowing down, switching off and settling into the season on the North Coast.
Expect morning movement, time outdoors, creative sessions with local makers and plenty of space to simply do very little. All rounded off with incredible seasonal food and drinks, specially curated by some of our favourite chefs and collaborators.
It’s less about filling every hour and more about creating the right atmosphere. Cold air, warm fires, shared tables, good conversation and nowhere else you need to be.

Our incredible hosts
Monday’s Child
If you’ve ever seen an ultra cool charm bar at an event or on social media, then it was probably the creative brains of Monday’s Child. Founded in 2021, Monday’s Child have become THE go to for custom luxe jewellery in Northern Ireland. Laura will be hosting a custom jewellery making workshop so you can take a piece of your Midsommar experience home with you that’ll last just as long as the memories.
Wildflower Yogi
Karen will be hosting two gentle yoga workshops for all midsommar guests. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried yoga before, because Karen has experience working with all levels of yogis. The energy that Karen brings is amazing. Within a few minutes of meeting her, you’ll see how passionate she is about yoga and helping people become 1% more aligned each day. A mantra that we’re proud to be bringing to our first retrea
Mallow Makers
What better way to settle into a warm summer’s evening than with toasted s’mores around the fire? We’ve partnered with the incredible Ingrid from Mallow Makers to bring you the squishiest, most delicious addition to your Midsommar experience. Ingrid started Mallow Makers in 2020 out of a rekindled love of making marshmallows, and what began as a way to make herself feel better has grown into a business dedicated to making life a little bit sweeter for everyone.
Niche Coastal
If you’re up for something a bit different, Declan’s sea sauna is for you. Its right on the beach, set in a seriously beautiful spot looking out towards Rathlin. You’ll spend your time moving between the heat of the wood-fired sauna and the sea, getting that proper hit of hot, cold, and salty air. He guides the whole thing in a really relaxed way, keeps you topped up with water, adds eucalyptus to the coals, and just makes the whole experience feel easy and looked after. It’s one of those things that sounds simple, but ends up being a real highlight of the weekend.
Small Batch Pizza Club
Specialising in Neopolitan pizza, Small Batch Pizza Club are absolutely nerdy about good pizza!
Usually selling out their Friday night pizza pick up slots week after week, we are so excited to have them cooking up the goods for our welcome dinner!
With a specialised menu for Midsommar and a whole lot of flavour in their kit, we know you are about to have the tastiest Friday evening of your life!
